when you create an Index App it will be displayed by default if someone enters  either:

  • The domain name used for a Custom URL
  • An App URL with just your MPA Brand included

For example, normally your app URL would be something like:

http://m.mp-app.com/yourbrand/appname

Until  you have created an index app anyone entering  http://m.mp-app.com/yourbrand - without the app name - will  get an error message. Once you have created an Index App this will automatically be displayed instead.

To create an Index App simply create the App you want, for example a  mobile friendly website and call it index (all lower case), it will now become the default app for the MPA brand it was created in.   In future the index app will be displayed when people do not specify an App name in the URL.

You can create an Index App for each MPA brand ID you have.

This is a very useful feature when used in conjunction with Custom URLs

When you create a custom URL, such as   http://mycustomdomain.com  and people use that URL it will automatically display the Index app.   If you also wish to have the "www" version of your domain display the index app simply request that this be added in a support ticket both versions of your domain URL will now display the Index app.
